Went to Star City last night to see Star Wars - and it was on screen 19.

However, I thought that screen 1 was a Digital Light Projector and would have been the ideal choice to show this film, but for a few years now they have not shown the big films on this screen (Matrix, Rings, Potter).

Is this now not their premium screen, as they seem to use screens 12 and 19 ? Sound was spot on though.

Doesn't Pooch work their - perhaps he can shed some light on this.

Just got a reply to an email i sent to vue cinema which now aparently owns the starcity cinema:

Thank you for your recent email; please be advised that we installed THX into the following cinemas Star City (scr.12); Cheshire Oaks (scr.1/15); Plymouth (scr. 9); Reading (scr. 4) and West End (scr. 5).

However, please be assured all of our cinemas sound formats are installed to equal THX sound.
    I hope this helps.

    Kind regards,

I was sure it was screen 1 as i saw the phantom menace there and it was digitally projected also.

Yes, I had heard that star city had a digital screen, but doesn't have it anymore.

But why would they take out the digital screen?? Surley all cinemas will eventually going down the digital route??

I was planning on going to Starcity to watch sith, but not so sure now. How is the picture and sound compare to other local cinemas??

im off to starcity tomorrow night (tuesday) to see revenge of the sith for the second time in screen 12 (thx).

Saw it first time saturday at uci tamworth, thought id be clever and go in the day to avoid any queues, all i got was loads of kids in the cinema asking their parents is that luke and other dumb questions, kids were as young as 4 yrs old in there, talk about parental responsibility !

    Ahaaa

Interesting. I presume the THX site is out of date. Looks like I'm going to be heading down to Star City/Vue now to see Ep III.
