    Hello

On the DVD Digital World website it says that the version they have is the :-
Full U.S. Version, Over 26 Minutes Longer than the Region 2 U.K. Release

    http://www.dvdworldusa.com/shopexd.asp?id=24204

Has any one heard of this one or is it the extras that are longer or just because of pal speed up over the three discs ?

I have the region 1 boxset and I'm not aware of it being an extended cut. Yes, a few minor alterations have been done sine the special editions but the films should not be any longer.

My guess is that you are right in saying that it might be the PAL speed up. Runtime of 626 minutes divided by 24 frames equals 26 minutes.

mmm does seem concievable that over the 4 discs it will be 26 minutes longer.
However, by implying that the UK release is different in content they are misleading customers either incompetantly if they are unaware they are the same or unscrupulously if they are.

The E-Mail I got from them said :- Full U.S. Version, Over 26 Minutes Longer than the Region 2 U.K. Release...Don't settle for less...

But does not say why it is longer than the reg 2 version

If it is no different than the region 2 I might try and get the limited box from MVC

JBev's right - though I don't know the techy reason why PAL versions are "quicker"

If you compare any NTSC with PAL, the NTSC always ahs a longer running time - weird!
