Star Wars: The Clone Wars (US pace contains spoilers)

Episode 1: Ambush + Episode 2: Rising Malevolence

The first thing that may get annoying is the level of wackyness the Battle Droids show, just to many comedic quips :D. But it a prime-time series on a cartoon network, so needs to keep the 'younglings' interested i guess. Each episode is introduced with a newsreel type intro which gives a heads up for the plot, similar to those seen in the 'Starship Troopers' films.

Each episode is 22mins and have large amounts off action, so there is very little downtime to get bored. If you have not seen The Clone Wars movie, it may be a problem that you dont fully know some off the characters, as 'Ahsoka Tano' introduction as 'Anakin's' padawan is not explained, which off course was a storyline in the feature length movie.

Episode 1 was ok, Yoda goes on a mission to a new planet to make new allies, but the plan is thrown into chaos as Count Dooku's has sent his apprentice Asajj Ventress who assures the the leader off the planet that Dooku is the right person to form an alliance with and not the Republic, and that his Droids are far more powerful than anything the Republic have, but Joda is not one to give up without a fight.

Episode 2 is better, its far darker than the first and more gripping when Jedi Plo Koon finds his ship destroyed by Grevious and Dooku new secret weapon. Plo Koon is attacked leaving him and his clones trapped in an escape pod, a resuce mission is not ordered by the Republic, but Ahosoka and Anakin have other ideas.

Overall the animation is good, but still not convinced with the bland flat textures, but ok with the style off the show and characters. Overall 7/10

How does this relate to the clone wars film?

Im not up with all star wars backstory, so if anyone wants to chime in. Ahsoka Tano 'Anakin's' padawan was introduced in the film, she has appeared in a novel and web episodes before, but first time i saw her was in the feature film. But from a plot point off view, its seems each episode off the series has a different story to tell (some plot elements may later tie up), so not really related to plot from the film.

Episode 3: Shadow of Malevolence

With the help of his Padawan Ahsoka and Jedi Master Plo Koon, Anakin utilizes new long-range Y-wing bombers to lead a bold strike on General Grievous' warship, the Malevolence, and its destructive weapon. 6/10

Saw the first episode, as a one time die hard fan, I'm not sure id subscribe to a channel to watch this. Its difficult watching a story unfold when you know for sure who will survive. The plotline in The Force Unleashed is more captivating as it treats the main storyline we all know as a background while filling in the gaps we don't already know. Hopefully this live action show will be of the same vein.
