Episode 1: Ambush + Episode 2: Rising Malevolence
The first thing that may get annoying is the level of wackyness the Battle Droids show, just to many comedic quips
. But it a prime-time series on a cartoon network, so needs to keep the 'younglings' interested i guess. Each episode is introduced with a newsreel type intro which gives a heads up for the plot, similar to those seen in the 'Starship Troopers' films.
Each episode is 22mins and have large amounts off action, so there is very little downtime to get bored. If you have not seen The Clone Wars movie, it may be a problem that you dont fully know some off the characters, as 'Ahsoka Tano' introduction as 'Anakin's' padawan is not explained, which off course was a storyline in the feature length movie.
Episode 1 was ok, Yoda goes on a mission to a new planet to make new allies, but the plan is thrown into chaos as Count Dooku's has sent his apprentice Asajj Ventress who assures the the leader off the planet that Dooku is the right person to form an alliance with and not the Republic, and that his Droids are far more powerful than anything the Republic have, but Joda is not one to give up without a fight.
Episode 2 is better, its far darker than the first and more gripping when Jedi Plo Koon finds his ship destroyed by Grevious and Dooku new secret weapon. Plo Koon is attacked leaving him and his clones trapped in an escape pod, a resuce mission is not ordered by the Republic, but Ahosoka and Anakin have other ideas.
Overall the animation is good, but still not convinced with the bland flat textures, but ok with the style off the show and characters. Overall 7/10
