Having watched the theatrical version not long ago on laserdisc, I remembered why I don't like them anymore.

I have been waiting for £20 a trilogy but not steelbooks.

    Prequel is £22 too.

Can anyone tell me if this is really worth getting? I mean, I love the originals (which I had on video...I only have Empire on DVD) but don't really want to see the recut, tinkered versions unless they're not that noticeably different. But I seem to remember there being stupid CGI creatures in the background etc which distracted from the original atmosphere of the films (more specifically, clashing with practical effects).

Unfinished/rushed special effects for one. For instance C3PO standing rather sitting on the back of the speeder.

If I hadn't just spent £100 on Star Trek blu rays, I might end up be persuaded to get these. I have never seen the separate trilogies much under £30 before.

I think they are brilliant, and this is a cracking price for all six - £44! Thumbs up from me.

Since you've waited so long already, you might as well wait a bit longer for it to drop some more. LOTR extended also held its price for a long time, but has dropped a lot in recent months. I'm guessing it's Star Wars' turn now...

I ordered LOTR for £20 and never got it so I still waiting for that one to drop again. It is still £30+ atm.

I am amazed how much the SW OT DVD boxset is worth. I could sell it tomorrow for what I bought it for back in 2004.

I know! All these people wanting to buy it now...where were they when they were first released? There were at least 3 different boxsets that I can remember- Silver, Gold and a tin box.

I remember them all being stacked high and discounted heavily at HMV for months...years even.

I got the silver box with the extra disc that was taken out later in mint condition. I even managed to sell my OT laserdiscs for £20.
