star wars film cell

Hi,
I bought a boxset of this superb saga and i had included in the box what is described as as actual copy of a film cell on 35mm film frame, taken from episode 3 revenge of the sith looking at it and comparing it to an actual 35mm slide i notice it is running the opposite way the actual size of the film frame is a tiny 23mm wide by 9mm high, is this really the size of it how can a image this size expect to be projected on a massive cinema screen, i always thought widescreen films were shot on 35mm film just like picture slides but with the picture squeezed and then unsqueezed to give the wide image so retaining the picture quality.

It's not a piece of a genuine print, it's a reproduction. Most of the 'film cells' I've seen are like that, although the cell with the US Phantom Menace VHS boxset was the real thing.
