Star Wars Episodes 4-6 - Limited Edition Theatrical Tin Box Set

I thought that this collection was to be removed from sale at the end of last year.

Its only crossed my mind and I searched Amazon and Play, and they have it in stock.

If I had a known that it would still be on sale after the new year I would have held off buying it.

Hate it when things like that happens. Then again, I should have known better :suicide:

Probably went OOP at the end of the year, there would be so sense in gathering up and destroying all the remaining Tins.

It's normally that they stop producing new copies from that date. Many suppliers will still have copies in stock, they just can't re-order more. If it's a popular title I'm sure many just order a tonne in advance anyway.

Yes it would be pointless removing them from the shelves and destorying them, but I'm almost certain that I heard that this set would be removed from the shelves anyway.

What I think I heard is, this set would only be on sale to the public until the end of the year. The sale time on the tin was to be 6 to 8 weeks.

But, I'm sure you are both right.

    I'm just alittle dsiappointed.

I took advantage of a voucher from the forums, £5 off £35 spent, and got the 6 Star Wars DVDs from HMV. Had a quick check of the discs and had a look at the ROTJ "Original" cinema version. Talk about ropey. Something about the quality of it makes me think that this was Lucas having a go at all the SW fans who have moaned about him releasing the Mr Blobby as Jabba versions instead of the originals. I can't believe that that is the best print he has of the originals. Where's he store them, his basement? I think this was Lucas saying, "So this is what you want, well you can have it.".

Why does Lucas hate us so much when we've made him so rich? Why!?!

I agree with you about the original movies, Lucas could have done better.

I would have to admitt though, that I got the most enjoyment from watching these old originals than I've gotten from watching any of the other Star Wars movies in a long time.

For some reason the old originals really made me feel all nolstagic. It was like watching them again for the first time.

Okay, it's been a while. I was looking to see if this tin had gone OOP. Looking at Amazon and HMV, I don't seem to see it. Thats not to say that it has actual sold out.

    Anyway,

The one thing that I did see was this

Star Wars Trilogy : Episodes IV-VI (Metal Tin Edition) 4 Disc

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Star-Wars-T...6-3122823?ie=UTF8&s=dvd&qid=1192031356&sr=1-3

This is the first time that I have seen this edition and I was wondering if anyone has it. Whats it like? Not that I going to buy Star Wars for a third or fourth time:D

    HI,

The new "Tin" edition of Star Wars IV-VI is yet another re-release of the SW Trilogy, the only difference being the Tin packaging! If you've not got the version released last year (in the silver or gold cardboard box), then it's nice to buy it. Otherwise, it's just a way for Lucas and his company to milk you - the customer and hardcore SW fans - for more of your hard-earned money.
