Arrived on my doorstep this morning from www.dvdslimited.com .
So that's tonight's viewing sorted.
Canadian version covered in French is it not?
It is bilingual, yes. Not that I had noticed till you asked.
Who cares whether there's French on the cover, if the disc content is the same what's the big deal?
Oh, I'd accept that many people do, which is where Craig is coming from. His website proudly supplies US sourced R1 product, with no French on the cover.
Didn't pay £18.99 did you?
Yes. Why? When buying blockbuster titles, I'm at all not bothered about the odd few quid here and there and never have been. I used to buy Laserdiscs at anything upwards of GBP25 and more typically GBP40. So pretty well any DVD is a bargain. If I was that price sensitive, I'd never have bought any Japanese editions........
We had these arrive on Friday too for £15.99 on next day delivery but having French on them is a pain so we moved them on to other suppliers.
Alot of people do not want French writing on the covers (well those that shop on our site anyhow) we have done a fair few tests.
Also we have the US version shipping now so there would be no use in having the Canadian version listed aswell.
£10.99 at Sainbury's with the "£5 off any spend over £15" offer, same at CDWOW (with a voucher). Everywhere else seems to be £14.99 or £15.99.
Though I completely agree it's not worth fretting over a few quid this seems more than just a few quid!...PJ
Hmmm; the difference (voucher aside) is:
a) less than a packet of fags (of many brands)
b) less than a couple of pints (in many places)
c) enough to buy a low-demand sale price DVD from a High St store
d) a tenth what many people spend on a Friday Night Out
Like I said, I care not.
Gotta admit though £18.99 is very expensive! £11.99 at cd-wow for the Region 3 looks more reasonable!
I think the point is that why take that attitude when it's so easy to save £8 , it's like buying 2 and getting one free almost if you shop around a bit and don't pay the rip off prices that some places charge. Ok £18.99 might not be a lot but it's £8 more than you could have paid which is surely better in your pocket than someone else's!
Yeah....I know what the point is.
Some folk get all hot and bothered about saving small amounts of money.
Some folk get all hot and bothered about getting their hot new blockbuster release a few days sooner.
In my particular case, I have a strong preference for NTSC sources over PAL. That discounts the Sainsbury offer. Beyond that, like I said, I just don't care about really what are very small amounts of money.
Most imposrtantly. This is the suppliers forum not the bargain forum and you have been supplied.
I went for the cheapest option for R3 at cdwow. I can wait as my buying habits over the last few weeks have given me too much 'tonights viewing'.
Just thought I would mention that I got an email from Axel Music saying my order for Star Wars Episode 3 should be shipped within the next 12 hours, not bad for only £9.99 with a free £1 voucher
me too. not used em before and after the DVDSOON nightmare, I was considering just sticking to the people I know, but this looks like it might be bargain of the year.
Just got an email from Sainsbury's saying my order with them for Episode III has been dispatched, another good bargain at £10.99
Received the same email from Sainsbury's this morning too, however going on past experiances, my Batman Begins DVD took a week following receipt of the shipping email to dropping through the door. Hope it's here for the weekend!!
Yea I have read posts from people who have ordered from Sainsbury's and they said it took a week but its for my brother so not too worried.
Just thought I would mention that my copy of Episode 3 arrived from Axel Music today and its the US R1 release, not Canadian, bargain of the year at £9.99
Surely the R3 version for less than £8.50 from CDWOW is entitled to that accolade?
Shouldnt have said bargain of the year really as there are plenty of other films available for less but for a brand new R1 DVD that isnt released until Next Week which seems to have a price tag of £15+, £9.99 has got to be one of the best bargains of the year
Mine too Took a bit longer than I thought it would but for a tenner I'm not complaining!!
Indiana Jones was yours posted from the UK? Mine was, which I thought a bit strange.
Yep mine had a UK address on it too.
Also, I thought it arrived very quickly, all my previous orders have taken a week or more to arrive from Axel Music so 4 days is great.
hid me a copy of it when it was in the dvd cuboard at work just in case they sell out, will get a nice 15% discount off it as well
Mine arrived from Axel today also
It had a Surrey address on it (crossed out) and also a Southall address.
Have to agree with it being a total bargain
Any orders from Sainsbury's arrived - I'm still waiting for mine...
Just finished watching it - An awsome DVD! Superb picture quality and excellent sound.
I dont understand how people can't like this installment
After watching the extra features though, a bit dissapointed they didnt include the Padme/Rebillion storyline.
Well worth the 9.99 Axel charged me for (Thank to whoever posted link ), Go and get it
