Just dug out and in the middle of watching the Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home extras disc.

I'm watching the physics of time travel:The art of the Impossible.

One of the phyicsists inverviewed is Jack Sarfatti explaining black holes and wormholes.

he says "the stargate wormhole is a benign blackhole....blah blah"

He discusses Kip Thorn discussing with Carl Sagan, in the development of Contact, wormhole technology and Einstiens theory of gravity (geometraic Dynamics).

so did he do this interview for stargate cos I aint seen it in relation to Star Gate or did "star Gate" come from Contact? Again I dont rememeber this discussion in Contact - the book or the film.

Yes there were wormholes but not "stargates" to my recollection.
