Dont read if you dont want to know how the series ends!

It looks like the rumours about the ending being all a dream/story of sorts are true.

Jonathan Frakes (cpt Riker) and Marina Sirtis (counselor Riker?) are in the last episode. And a Holodeck is involved!

    http://www.startrek.com/startrek/view/news/article/9996.html

If this is the case does this mean that the makers of the show are effectively "deleting" what they did for the last 4 years?, that it is no longer the new "history" of the formation of the federation?

This really is IT for me. I want berman out, NOW! :nono:

Oh my God they have really lost the plot. Found this interview with Jolene Blalock, she ain´t that thrilled about he last ep either

"It is sad," said Blalock about the show's cancellation "I think most of us here are still in active denial. But you've got to know, going in, that these last few days are going to be highly emotional."

She wonders how the show opened with 13 million viewers and "somehow managed to drive 11 million of them away".

She praised the writing in the fourth season "[Season 4] was a treat, a joy to do." she told the Toronto Sun "It was an unexpected surprise to have the scripts that we did (this season). And I am grateful and thankful for that. It was fun to come to work again. And it was certainly much better than spending another season doing what we had been doing. It said a lot about the potential of the show."

When asked about the series finale, she said "[awkward silence]...I don't know where to begin with that one. The final episode is ... appalling."

Jolene feels sorry for the fans and praised the fan campaigns to save the show "I really am touched by their outpour of support, and their display of passion for the show. I was sort of caught off-guard. I didn't know that they were so adamant. But, you know, they really aren't saying anything new. They're just saying it louder."

About her upcoming unemployment, she revealed "I'm just coming from an audition right, and I'm very excited about it. I love auditioning, the entire process, going out and meeting people in the industry. It's been four years since I've been out pounding the pavement, and I miss it. It's a place of the unknown, and a place of infinite possibilities. And I like that."

I remember that somone said this was a possible ending in another post but i thought it was just a stupid rumour.
I was well shocked when i saw all this on startrek.com.
Blalock's reaction only strengthens the possible bad ending!

The only way they could ever redeem themselves is if the "Titan" with Riker in the cpts chair goes back in time and sets everything straight. Then ill be happy. But I somehow doubt this is whats going to happen since theres mention of the hollodeck, and also mention of no time travel.
Its still early to tell, but this really is a kick in the danglies from berman and co!

Just goes for what I have been saying before, Berman and the other top guys want getting rid off before any future Star Trek projects are considered. From reading how it ends I think I will delete my series link on Sky+ and wave goodbye to it now.

:lesson: please dont be so critical of berman & co, its the bigwigs at paramount that are the 'enemy' so to speak, i personally think enterprise has been the best series since next generation and hope that fan power will win, like with t.o.s !! fingers crossed ;)

Even if the finale episode does take place back on the Enterprise-D it doesnt have to mean the whole series was just a holonovel Riker was running, it could mean he was taking part it a historical reconstruction which involves the first Starship Enterprise and the formation of the Federation, guess we will just have to wait and see.

Thats one thing im hoping it could be. Just have to wait and see!

(By the way, it wouldnt be the "Enterprise D" as it was destroyed! Also Riker took his own command at the end of Nemesis so he would now be the capt of the "Titan" :lesson: )

I also thought it would be set after Nemesis onboard Rikers ship until I read the following on the Official Star Trek site...

"During the eight-day principal photography schedule (one day longer than usual), most of the shooting took place on standing NX-01 sets, but there were new sets constructed to represent 24th-century locales. Among them: Ten Forward, the Observation Lounge, Troi's Quarters, and TNG-style Corridors. We will also see scenes in the Hologrid, but those were shot in front of a greenscreen for rendering later."

Sounds to me like they are setting it onboard the Enterprise-D that is unless the Titan is also a Galaxy class starship which would explain the similar set design, another question which we wont know the answer to for awhile.

Yeah. We know its the Titan, but we dont know what class of ship it is.
Its more likely they will make it a Galaxy class ship as it would be cheaper for them to re-use old TNG sets than to build new ones for a different class star ship!

Well i would like to think so, but I have a suspision that, that is not the way they are going, and they want to just hit that old cosmic reset button making way for the next movie/tv project :suicide:

If it does end up a holonovel , it'll get round the whole issue of archer / enterprise / xindi etc etc .Never ever been mentioned in previous ST shows/films (Excluding the briefest of appearences of the USS Archer in Nemisis , so brief it was just a dot on a screen :D )

    LOL Really? I never noticed!
Need to get the old Nemesis DVD out for a wee look! :D

Does anyone know how long the series finale will be? The usual 45mins? or will it be a 2 part special?
Since its the last I would immagine a 2 parter, but you never know.
At least that way there would be time to make it a good ending!

I think I know which part of the film you are talking about. When Data and Picard are in the library planing the attack and they say they will meet the other starfleet ships. On the screen in the back you can see the names of the ships they are meeting very breifly.
"Archer" must be one of the ships right?
(I also have a plasma so ill check it out when I get some time! :D )

I also dont think ill bother with the Enterprise box sets. I mean compared to the Stargate SG1 box sets they cost twice as much but you only get half the entertainment!

Well he did keep getting called Mr Woof by Lwaxana Troi so it's understandable.

That's what I missed most about Enterprise, there are just no comedy moments in Enterprise!. TNG was just a complete riot, Worf's son learning to laugh (shouting ha all the time @ Worf), Q and Picard moments, Data moments - like when he got stuck in one of those Chinese finger puzzles or that ep where he thought he was a Wild West character, walking with a swagger and spitting into plant pots was a classic.

Agreed, Enterprise is a little humorless compared to previous 'Treks'.
Some of the 'Doctor' episodes from Voyager had me in stitches.
The one where he had alter egos of the crew running in his holodeck novel.
    Classic :rotfl:

You are right about the comedy moments, hadn't really thought about it but can't remember any of those in Enterprise.

I think the original had most humor in it McCoy and Kirk were always getting at Spock.
