Stands that aren't a rip off

I'm looking for two matching stands, for 7 components (5 poweramps, pre-amp, dvd player) plus 40" LCD and a wide 72cm centre. The HTPC will be behind the LCD so stand has to be 50cm deep (top shelf)

Apollo Aria range is suitable, but totalling up the price amounts to around £600

The TV stand has to be 40cm high. 800mm wide unit for the TV, 550mm wide unit for the Hi-Fi.

Too many poweramps, in too little a space.:suicide:

Sounds pretty reasonable to me, you've obviously spent a fair bit on hi fi why not pay a reasonable amount for something to make it look nice?
The Apollo equipment is reasonably well made and doesn't look bad, you could try modding some of the 'Ikea' type stands, a lot of people have threads on here showing some clever variations.
Alternatively, if you fancy the DIY thing, build your own?

There's a definite "rip off ness" to all this hi-fi racking..

You might want to try http://www.ccaw.co.uk/

As I did not have enough shelves in the Soundstyle (which I have kept in the hope something will turn up) I got a bespoke job sorted. Matt provided the stand to my measurements and I got the glass locally. Pretty good value and really nice REAL wood.

Hi - I cannot remember exactly but think the american oak stand was £135 delivered and I paid around £60 for the 10mm glass locally. My first enquiry to him was by email ... I described what I wanted and he let me have a cost.
