I have been having a lot of problems with the times app crashing. Up till now, I have just left my iPad on standby, but just now I did a reset and now the times app works without crashing. The aMonitor app shows that I have much more memory available than before. Does this suggest that I have a dodgy app in my collection that is leaving part of itself in memory?

Also, would it be better to power off properly every now and then rather than leave it on standby all the time? Would powering off clear out the memory?

Hope this makes sense, but I am speaking as a seasoned Windows user, rather than Apple user.

Thanks, Jan

I have found the "system" app which clears memory as well as providing much info about ipad system.

Problem solved.

I'll have to look for that system app, I know I downloaded an app the other day and when I started it a message came on the screen saying please remember to turn off your ipad each time you have installed new app.
