We only have standard cable, and was not aware that HDMI is required on these Vizio Plasmas?

What's the optimal solution to watch standard cable on this set? Any easy fix converters that I can get into?

    Thanks.

Do you mean Viera plasma's? If you do then HDMI is only for viewing high def content. You can still plug it in via scart and enjoy cable as far as I know.

    Thanks for the reply.

Vizio is the one I got from Costco. However, my basic issue is that I had no idea Vizio or other plasma's in general don't have standard compliant "cable" plugins to go directly from my cable into the plasma w/o hassles...

    Sorry about that.

The plasma virtually has EVERY connection except your standard cable connection.

Just tried an adapter from standard cable to S-video.

Still can't find the source :(

I have the Vizio 42" and shipped it back from the US (costco..only $1600 and brought it back on the plane with me!) It has every conection under the sun (except scart) so can't see how you would not be able to connect. What connection does your cable box have coming out?

If you purchased one of the Vizio L32s, could you advise re compatability with euro hdtv standards?

I was looking at one of these to support both ATSC and euro hdtv standards, but they mostly only advertise the US standards (naturally).

    Here is what they say:
    480i/576i, 720p, 1080i ... and doesn't specify refresh rates.

    Does it support:
    Euro: 576i/p, 720p (50Hz), 1080i (50Hz).

    Its a given it does:
    USA: 480i/p, 720p (60Hz), 1080i(60Hz)

Can someone please confirm for me?
