I am having a few problems with my Pioneer DV360 - whenever I play certain discs - the picture freezes/jams up and the player tries skipping along and then just stops.
A quick restart can result in jittered playback!
Any ideas what causes this? I had the same happen with my old Sony DVP725 - it is really annoying - someone told me that the lens has had it. Can this really have happened to both of my players!!! :?: The DV360 is about 18months old and the Sony is 5 years old.

I would be more inclined to think it is an error on the disc. Give it a quick clean to see if that improves the situation.

Otherwise i think it is a mastering error on the disc, or possibly disc-rot (which I have never seen!)

well disc looks fine and always has been before - so I think it is fine.
Could it be anything to do with the fact that I have the DVD player on top of my amp with no separation??
The amp is a Sony STRDB930.
