I have a Denon 2910 DVD player and intend to purchase a Denon A/V amp (4306 or A11XVA).

Can I stack the components on top of each other? DVD on amp or amp on DVD?

    Hi

I wouldn't advise it to be honest. Denon Amps can get quite warm so need plenty of ventilation. Their players can also get relatively warm as well.

If you have no choice but to stack then I would put the DVD player on bottom. I nuked a sony DVD player by stacking on top of a Denon Receiver. Replaced the sony with a 2800 and stacked the receiver on top without a minutes problem. Well no problem until the power supply in the DVD player was taken out by lightning through an APC and surge protector.

    Nuck

    there is always a choice.
if a unit overheats and dies, then you send it for repair,an engineer will diagnose the problem, find that the unit has no obvious reason to overheat and draw the conclusion that it was poorly ventilated.
there are always telltale signs that units have been stacked or cramed into a small area.

I had my 1920 stacked on top of my 1906 in a closed TV cabinet and when I took a disc out of the player after about half hour it was almost too hot to handle

Ended up buying a new "open" TV stand and separated them - nice and cool now :smashin:
