im considering buying a kingston V300 SSD just got a question regarding the cloning procedure.

my desktop pc has two internal hardrives os drive c and data drive d. would the procedure for cloning the os drive onto the new ssd be this...

    shut down pc
disconnect data drive and connect new blank ssd to those sata connectors.
boot pc from acronis cloning disk provided ,
clone os drive onto new ssd, remove acronis dvd and turn off pc
disconnect old c drive and connect new ssd os drive to the old c drive sata connectors
reconnect data drive back to where it was originally
    boot pc normally

is that the steps i should take? is it that easy?

    cheers

Personally I would recommend doing a clean install rather than a clone of your existing drive. Over time the drive will become clogged with junk and this will be copied as part of the clone.

If going for a clone I would
    1. backup all data and make sure all programs are available to reinstall if required
    2. remove the data drive for security
    3. connect SSD and clone from C: drive
    4. remove old C: drive and replace with the SSD
There are a lot of helpful tips on moving to an SSD in this fairly old thread - https://www.avforums.com/threads/an-ssd-installation-and-configuration-guide.1631845/
