First of all thanks to all you experts and I'm really hoping you can help me.

I have an SR606 that until a few weeks ago seemed to be working fine. I have a 5.1 spkr arrangement and all speakers were setup and working with Audessy.

Now for some reason, only my right and left speakers are working along with the sub. Tried to re-run Audessy and it confirmed detecting only the Front, Left and sub as well.

Somehow after reading other posts I beleive that I or one of my family (yes I have kids) reconfigured something but I don't know what to look for. I did not write down the original configuration.

One other thing:

The front dispay has three red small boxes and the the words HDMI DSP as well as Audessy displayed. The larger letters say CBL T-D

Any adivce would be appreciated. Thanks.

T-D is the audio mode that tries to replicate surround sound using just the front speakers so that's why only the fronts are working. Press the movie/tv listening mode button on the remote to cycle through the available modes.

Thanks for the response. I tried all of the options but it did not work. Trouble is, I had this working with the output from the FIOS DVR (and I checked the sound option - it has not changed). I even got through and was enjoying the Audessy configuration when, somehow, the center and rear speakers just quit. In reading other threads on other Onkyo units it seems to be a config issue but I don't know where to start???

I would like to add this to my last post. Since I realized that I should have written down my settings before this problem erupted I created a template for the 606 configuration with what my settings are now. It is a simple text list that anyone is free to use. Again I would appreciate any comments on how to restore my center and surround speakers. Nothing I have tried has worked so far. Thanks.:D

Have you tried resetting it to factory defaults?

To reset the AV receiver to its factory defaults, turn it on and, while holding down the [VCR/DVR] button, press the [ON/STANDBY] button.

An update. I called Onkyo Customer Support. They confirmed that after I gave the unit the two fingered solute (thanks WibXL) all of the channels should of produced audio. In fact they did not.

I placed known working speakers on the outputs and the center, rear left and rear right were dead. Now it is sitting in a repair shop :(
