    Hi,

I've got a minidisk deck: Sony MDS-JB940 (QS Series, UK version) that until recently has been connected to a Yamaha amp via analogue.

Having recently upgraded the amp to Marantz SR5400 I was wondering if there is any benefit in connecting the deck via digital. So, the question is whether the DAC in Marantz is better (for stereo) or not than the DAC on the JB940 (it was top of the range Sony md line).

Obviously, will try to have a comparative listenning session, but was wondering if anyone knows which one is supposed to be better at least on paper ;)

    Any advice is welcome.

    Thanks

Does anyone have any views? Am I right to assume that Marantz's DAC going to be better even if only because it's more up to date?
