    marantz sr4300 £197
    marantz sr5300 £247

Bearing in mind I'm only going to be using the rear channel amplification, is the latter really worth bothering with considering I don't need front AV ins either?

can't get yamaha 630 good price, so thats why it isn't on the list... doesn't need to be good with music either- hifi listed on signature

Alternatively, anyone know of reasonably priced processors (i.e. NO amplification) sub £1k that have DPL2, 6.1 etc?

    Cheers

How about the Rotel RSP1066? List is £1000 but you should be able to get it for around £900.

    Hi rozzar

Must agree with Ricky27, I bought the SR4300 last week at £239:95 price matched the SR5300 was £330??

Having said that I bought the 4300 for its musical qualities but have not been impressed hence it is going back to RS tomorrow to be replaced with a Yammy DSP AX630 for £270 ish.

It is obviously for movies and I can honestly say owning 1 x Yammy 1 x Onkyo 1 x Marantz the yammy's are the machines for movies, no question.

    Hope it helps

    Regards

i paid more than £200 more for my 5300, but I'm not bothered in the slightest as it's worth every penny IMO. damn good prices tho.

I bought it from RS Newcastle. Because they didn't have any 4200's they were selling them as 'Manager's Specials' for £239:95.

Other members of the forum have bought them at the same price when this fact was mentioned.
