I thought I'd re-open this query as I can only find information from days of old (and things might be different now)...
I have a pair of Alpine M700 marine speaker fitted in the bathroom ceiling. The wiring for these goes up into the loft where there is also a Squeezebox receiver.
The missing link in the chain is an amplifier. I'm looking for a small low power, low heat amplifier which can sit safely in the loft space, connecting the SB receiver to the speakers.
Ideally the unit woul have the following features:
1. Auto power off (when no audio is detected)
2. Digital input.
Does such a unit exist???
Suggestions are much appreciated.
