sprint JB, Unlocked 3GS,OS 3.1.3, BR 05.12.01 - want OS 4, what options?

I have the sprint jailbreak and ultrasnow unlock running on os 313
however, I want os4 but want it Sim unlocked again

I know u can't do this if you have the sprint JB
but is there any way to get rid of this and put a different jailbreak on, then upgrade to os4 and apply A new JB and unlock?

What files do you have saved on cydia?


if you have any lower then 3.0.0. then you can do a restore to this run redsnow and then use the custom firmware to upgrade to the new IOS4.

a little tricky but it should work.

11 months ago on OS 3.0

But recently i tried to take it back on a warrenty claim (which they wouldn't do)
to take it back, i had to flash to stock, and Itunes put on OS 3.1.3 and base band 05.12.01

Its currently JB with sprint and unlocked with Ultrasn0w.
Is that enough info?

I'm afraid you'll have to wait for a new JB. Which I would think should be in a week or two. Their just waiting on the new iphone to see if it works on that too.

I'm in the same (or similar) boat - my 3GS was jailbroken on 3.0 using blackra1n. Upgraded to 3.1.2, blackra1ned again. Upgraded to 3.1.3 and jailbroke with Spirit. As I have never jailbroken this device with pwnagetool/redsn0w, I think I'm out of luck.


However, I do have all my SHSH blobs since 3.0 saved with Cydia, and as my 3GS is one of the first batch it has the old bootrom... could I potentially downgrade to 3.0, jailbreak with pwnagetool using a mac, then upgrade to 4.0 with pwnagetool??

Woohoo, awesome! I'll wait til I have a free weekend though, I'll have to borrow a Mac to do it with... I do wish that the Dev Team were more on the ball with Windows support

i got my mate to use his mac to use pwn-tools to get me the iso4 and jailbroke already sorted in it

then used snow to unlock it so now i have a iphone 3gs running on iso4 jailbroken and unlocked
