We are in the middle of decorating my 4 year old daughters room - and shes having most things bright pink :)eek:)

However her old Winnie the pooh tv & DVD player are bright orange...(!)

So we have an old 17" Widescreen sony LCD which was has recently been retired...so have fitted this on a wall bracket for her - However it looks odd being silver...

My question is this -has anyone ever sprayed a tv surround and if so what where can I get the paint (shocking pink...would be nice) and is there anything I need to watch out for before spraying it...

Not sure if halfords still do spray paints but if they do would they have a bright pink!

Cheers in advance for any help!

Never done it myself but Halfords do sell a florescent pink spray paint. You might want to use some clear lacquer as well to stop it scratching off.

PlastiKote also do a suitable paint. You can get it from Homebase and B&Q.

I assume you'll be taking detaching the part from the TV before spraying.

You will need to key the area to be painted with fine wet & dry, use a good primer, fine sand again when dry, and then apply the pink top coat.

This should stop any peeling :smashin:

The tv isnt very good so am not bothered about painting it!

I will take all of the covers off to paint - thinking about it I will also paint the cantilever bracket its on (have an old sony dvd player that also may get the pink treatment!)

Will post this pics here once they are done (aslong as they dont look too bad!)

I can't get my head round the idea of an 'old' LCD screen - we've still got our ancient B & O CRT for when the grandchildren stop over.

Time's moving too fast for my liking.
