Well just finished watching episode 1

Very good - gripping throughout - spoilers in the end titles.

    Good job I guessed right!

A good start to the new season I thought.

 I DETEST THE SPOILERS FOR NEXT WEEKS EPISODE
I dont want to know who the mole was(even though they did make it a little too obvious). I want the chance that I'm going to be proved wrong.

Despite that though I'm looking forward to tonights episode.

I was a big fan of the previous series, but i thought this first episode whilst full of drama was also full of cheese and nonsense.

Oh and do you think MI5 are having trouble recruiting?? What was all that nonsense about eating fruit and calling home???

I just turned of soon as I saw next time on Spooks, as they never show credits on it and you have to look at the website for it.

Don't forget it back on tonight.

    Did you though ?

I thought it was a bit too obvious from the start.

I hate the spoilers too, but would hope they don't give too much away. I suspect with some editing trickery these may not actually be spoilers, but some kind of spanner in the works to con you.

At least I hope so because otherwise why bother watching tonight....

But it was a great show and despite the above still looking forward to tonight.#

Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear.

Looks like that's another BBC / ITV drama series infected with another ex-soap star.

At least when 24 casts an actor in the role of "Joe Public / Innocent Bystander / Eye Witness" we get Lou Diamond Phillips or Lucas Hass...sadly the best that the BBC can offer is Martine "GRANT!" McCutcheon. :rotfl:

Still, not quite as funny as Grunt attempting to portray a fit-as-a-butcher's-dog SAS trooper!!!

PS - I use term ex-soap star advisedly, as no doubt Martine will be back on Albert Square once she finally realises that SHE'S BLOODY RUBBISH! I mean, they brought Bobby Ewing back from the dead, didn't they?

Poor old Spooks - its been getting accused of that since season 1, in 2002, even though each of its seasons has been produced at the same time as corresponding seasons of 24. Its just coincidence, that the US and UK produced post-9/11 dramas about counter-terrorist agencies that use split-screens.

Apart from that, the tone and pace are very different - I'm a fan of both series - e.g. Jack Bauer being a bit trigger/torture-happy in every episode; the more pro-president/government nature of 24 versus the cynicism of Harry et al against government advisors, politicians, New Labour etc; the real-time concept of 24, etc...

they abandoned that for the last season (3) and did have full end credits, so appears they've reverted to the previous style

i thought it was a good solid start. although bits of part 2 were laughable - "Tiff" being taken into the grid was a laugh. :rotfl:

having gotten rid of the entire cast (other than the bloke from he double deckers) is was dreading it - but its ok i think.

    Hi,

I watched this last night, quite enjoyed the start to the new series.
I've still got it on the HD of my EH60D.
If it's not repeated on BBC3, I can run off a dvd (it only take a few minutes) and post it to you.

I've got tonights to watch as well!

Watched episode 3 last night and another good show. Although I miss the past characters, the new ones are growing on me. Also like that the Ruth character seems more involved than see was before, hope that continues.

Whats going on with the scheduling of this show - Episode 1 Monday, Episode 2 Tuesday. So I sit down last night (Monday) expecting Episode 3 - not on. So I check if its on tonight - not on.

    Its on Thursday !

    Whats that all about ?

Slightly annoyed about that really - doesn't make it easy to watch when its all over the place -

Although I may have known this had I not turned the tv off as soon as the episode had finished so I didn't get the next week spoilers !!!!
