Did anyone else think is was the worst episode ever last night!
I think that they've run out of ideas as last night's episode was ridiculous in the extreme. The writers should be forced to watch the first series again before writing any more of this crud as they have clearly forgotten what it was that made this programme such compulsive viewing.
Truly the worst so far, even Gollum could not save it.
It wasn't brilliant. Can't stand Gollum anyway for no logical reason. So that got up my nose.
I think it was just the way of getting Adam's wife into the mix to replace Zoe. They could've come up with something better. Hopefully normal service will resume next week.
I personally thought the episode on the ferry where Danny had to kill that scientist and Ruth was stalking some random guy was worse. Nothing happened and I didn't have a clue what was going on most the time.
This series has been a lot less consistent than the last two. They barely put a foot wrong in the first two. Tom's return was all a bit quick for me. I thought that there was several episodes worth of material there whilst he proved his innocence.
I hated that guy that Zoe started going out with. He looked very suspicious and nothing came of that. In fact, on reflection, this series isn't that great! Although the one with the Emperor from Star Wars was pretty good. Still I'll be watching it the next episode on Sunday, hoping it gets better.
Got to agree that last night was the worst ever episode of Spooks.
I thought Andy Serkis was good in it, but he didn't have much to work with in such a poor plot/script.
It was obvious from quite early on that the SPOILER
wife dunnit IMO.
yes it was pants.
This series has been a major dissapointment. 2 main characters leaving. Is it going to get better is the question?!
I think Tim McInnerny as the slimy Oliver Mace is playing a good part which is a long, long way from his days as Percy in Blackadder.
I prefered Hugh Laurie in the 1st season
I'd forgotten about him. It's a bit of a Blackadder reunion then. What's next Baldrick replacing Harry?
That would be great he could come up with all sorts of cunning plans.
I think this series needs a couple of cunning plots first!
It was pretty embarassing and I had to make sure it wasn't a "Comic Relief" episode of Spooks that I was watching....
Tim McInnerny is a bit Pantomime villain for me and he was much better in Blackadder (I keep imagining him dressed in the S&M/Jester outfit in the "Bishop of Bath and Wells" episode of Blackadder 2 ).
Last weeks was nearly as bad with the rogue Hacker who just happened to be the IT specialist MI5 brought in to help, how convenient.
I hope they turn it around and start delivering the goods again, because it is (was) one of the best domestically produced TV dramas of recent years.
I think the last episode worth watching was the one where they got rid of Mc Fayden with Ian Mc Diarmid as a scientist. It has lost the edginess of the first two seasons, anyone know if they changed screenwriters?
Back to form on Saturday, I thought. A thought-provoking episode. And Adam's wife is a fox!
i wasnt sure about satudays episode (tonights) dont want to say anything to spoil but i felt it made MI5 look like the bad guys. It was certainly a lot better than previous ones!
Adams wife is indeed a fox!
we can discuss it tomorrow for those that didn't see it
Tomorrow's fine. I was very careful in my choice of words! Didn't want to spoil anything for anyone! Just thought I'd cheer people up by letting them know it's a return to form.
Having said that, I'll probably get slaughtered tomorrow as everyone will think it's crap!
Please no spoilers as some will be watching The Unforgiven and will be taping Spooks.
Don't worry! No spoilers from me! Someone from work ruined an episode a couple of weeks ago. No payrise for them next year!
Saw it last night. It seems to be getting back on form. It looks to me like the whole pattern for this series is to look at the moral dilemas surrounding MI5. Most of the episodes seem to have some angle on this subject.
I agree with the comment about Adams wife being a fox
