Anyone out there got any thoughts about why the aspect on my Panasonic Plasma should spontaneously switch whilst watching programmes (fims and broadcast) without any apparant cause, then switch back again. It's a bit irritating. The source is Telewest cable TV.

    Cheers chaps!

    Ben,

What aspect mode are you running the plasma in?

If it is in 'Panasonic Auto' it will take aspect switching commands from your Telewest box. If set to 16:9 it should stick with one aspect ratio.

i`m running a toshiba/panny 4 clone into the vga imput so i can only use 4.3 16.9 zoom. i leave everything on 16.9.

but a few times on films there is a 1inch black bar on sides for about 20 mins into film or first add break then comes back as full screen or 16.9. only a few times over last few years. mostly on bbc1 and channel 5. strange but true.
