    could anybody please tell me where can i buy an spl metre from on the web ?
    and any recomendations ?

    These meters used to be available from the many Tandy shops and were marked 'Realistic'. An analogue version was also available and is still preferred by some.

    Be aware that the meter does not read 'flat' as supplied.

    The meter has a sharp bass roll off and slightly 'untidy' treble response.

    Unless you are skilled at soldering I would print out the correction figures then simply adust your meter readings on paper.
