    Hi All,

Can anyome recommend a cheap (but worthwhile) SPL Meter. The only one I've found so far is from Maplin but it's £50 and I was hoping to pay less than £30 (is this realistic?).

I need it to support 'C' weighting with 'slow' response.

    TIA,

    D.

What you want is the Radio Shack meter.

Look at www.cornwallelectronics.co.uk as they do them reasonable priced and give good service.

    Thanks Victoria,

Any advantage in buying the digital meter over the analogue one? I'm after something cheap but I don't want to waste my money.

No real advantage ... most people seem to buy the analogue one for home cinema use.

I've got the analogue one, originally bought from Tandy. It's the same as the Radio Shack model and I've had no problems with it.

So including postage and packing it is the same price as ordering it in the UK :D

    Agreed.

I ordered the analogue one from Cornwall Electronics this morning. They're out of stock 'til the end of the week so I'm expecting to get it next Monday.

Are there any sound meters that do frequency as well as dBs?
