Having read a few threads can someone confirm that to set up my speakers correctly and then measure the SPL levels for my sub, I should do the following: 1. Using my amps test tone, set each speaker to read 75 on the Radio Shack SPL Meter (Digital). However - should initial volume level be 0dB as the volume level will have an effect on the SPL level and therefore my speaker levels. Also do I set the sub to 75 aswell? 2. To measure sub response only: Disconnect all other speakers. Connect Sub via low level output from receiver (Marantz SR4200). Using 1/6th of an octave tones downloaded from snapbug, start at the highest frequency e.g. 100Hz and set volume to read SPL level 75 (Meter set to 70, Slow, C). Can I use CD player for this as my DVD won't play CDR! 3. Go through all tones noting SPL readings. 4. Enter values into spreadsheet - also downloaded from above. 5. Check response - shift sub and repeat until happy Cry because it's nowhere near as good as Jases!!
