Sony has pushed back TASM3 from 10 June 2016 (now gone to Uncharted) to 2018, no specific date, most likely May/June.

So everyone gets a long rest from Peter Parker centric film, whilst the Sinister Six (2016) & Venom (still waiting for a release date) reek havoc on cinema goers - by trying to take down Peter Parker...?, oh well seems the web slinger will get regular screen time after all.

Using the existing thread for now canceled TASM3, for the new reboot, tentatively known as The Spectacular Spider-Man.

Reportedly Drew Goddard (Behind Marvel's Daredevil tv series, Cabin in the Woods) who was linked with the now scrapped Sinister Six film, is the man Sony/Marvel alliance has chosen to reboot Spider-Man in a new solo film. He will write and direct.

It's rumoured that Iron Man and Sinister Six could feature in some capacity.

The important bit of news, from this article

http://www.aintitcool.com/node/70557

is they have jettisoned any influence from Avi Arad.

I dunno, think is great news. Let's hope we get another Spidey origin story as its been too long since we got one of them!

Interesting news the Russo brothers, Anthony and Joe, directors of the two Captain America films have signed a first look deal with Sony Pictures.

Could they be producing Spider-Man, there is word that Drew Goddard is not 100% confirmed as Spider-Man director, should the gig go to the brothers, but they are also rumoured to helm the next two Avengers films. At the moment it's just all speculation.

If they're insistent on origin story then at least do something like the Incredible Hulk where the opening credits give the back story.

Oh I would fully agree. 95% of their slate is absolute crap, luckily for them they have James Bond in good hands and of course Skyfall was the biggest film in UK box office history.

That would be really smart. Personally I haven't seen any of the latest reboot, so unlikely I will be watching the Reboot's reboot (apart from the Civil War story which sounds interesting).

Yep just what we need. I've read that story countless times in comic form and seen both film versions. How did it go again? I need another yet another reminder.

Maguire looks like 12 mate. What u on about
Out of all the Spidey flicks we've had thus far..I prefer the first two Maguire films, the second in particular I thought was quite decent.

Spider-man 2 is hands down the best movie from the Marvel comics, it has everything a comic film needs to have and executes it magnificently.

When you look at the current state of marvel films I've only enjoyed Winter Soldier and Guardians, the rest have been utter bore especially.
