Hey guys i am itching to play a new game, seeing as last game i got was crackdown and im bored of that now i think
Seeing as spidey 3 is out it has pretty good reviews and looks intresting, but with Battlefield Bad Company coming in a month apprantly and Shadowrun also in a month and then FORZA 2 just over a month away im not sure whether to just wait for these games?!

So to people who have it and so on i would like your views.

You actually seen any reviews then? I haven't seen any - other than people on forums talking about the game which hasn't made it sound very good

I was looking forward to this - but after what people have said it doesn't look like I'll get it

For some reason there is a blackout on reviews untill 6pm today... as I've just read in the Spiderman forum.

    Don't know why.

Has there been any word on a demo? I appreciate that there hasnt been one due to the movie not being released until today but now that's out a demo would be nice.

Either way, I think I'll wait until it's under £30 before I get it as from what I've seen and read so far it doesnt appear to be anything special.

Anyone know if it's region free? I cant get on Play-Asia at work.

Film tie-in? Bound to be ****? Surely that's the rules, isn't it? ;)

Chronicles Of Riddick is the only exception to that rule for me. A truely awesome game. It's almost criminal it isnt on the b/c list yet.

Back on topic - I'm sure Spidey 3 is a decent enough game as 2 was ok, I just dont think it will be good enough to justify 40 bones. I have a feeling it will get boring quite quickly once all the missions are complete and the novelty of swinging around the city has worn off.

It also seems like the PS2 version has been polished for PS3 and 360, rather than the 360 / PS3 version being watered down for the PS2. It's obviously going to suffer if that is the case.

To be classed as a "tie-in" it's got to be released at the same time as the film, right? If not, I can think of plenty of good games from film franchises :) Well, a few, anyhow.

    AvP (PC)
    Jedi Knight (PC)
    GoldenEye (PS)

Ok, now I'm struggling... I guess most film > game transitions result in less than stellar titles. Same for game > film too, as Uwe Boll is really proving :p

Although not a classic movie tie in, but a franchise one, Knights Of The Old Republic re-wrote the franchise rule book for me. Also the Lego Star Wars games were really cool!

But in general most film tie in are just crap, just look at the original Matrix game, and the follow up come to think of it!!!

On a plus side for Spiderman, my step soon really loves them.

If you liked Spider-Man 2, get it. If you've never played Spider-Man 2, it depends on how much you like Spider-Man.

It's a great Spidey game. It's tougher than Spidey 2.

Though I've only an hour under my belt, I can see myself playing it a lot more, especially once I see the film tonight.

Oh, and the voices are great. They got JK Simmons to do JJJ. Love that guy.

Hmmm im still not sure , seen a few people write and say ' its great, i love swinging around through the city' and so on and people were making it sound good, but i thought a super hero game, is it worth paying like 30/40 quid?!

im sure id enjoy it and as a kid i did love spiderman, but i just think it may be abit boring after the novelty of swinging around has worn off.

but if the missions were really good then id probs defo get it.

    demo news anyone?!

Missions are pretty good and varied so far.

I've done armoured car bust ups, car chases, gang attacks, and the coolest one, I beat up a gang spying on a guy, looking through their telescope and saw where they were trying to break into and had to go bust that up.

I have to admit, the more I play it, the less I feel like I could recommend it to others.

Which isn't to say I think it's a bad game, just one that might not appeal to non-fans, who may find the game not enjoyable enough to get through the frustrating bits.

Anyone who loved Spider-Man 2 the game should jump on this though but anyone who thinks it's a clunky 3 year old game should steer clear.

It's a good thing we can form opinions for ourselves then.

Simply put, if you liked Spider-Man 2, you'll like this. If you didn't, you won't.

Personally, i'm loving the game...it is tough but that adds to its lifespan. Pretty much like Spidey 2 except the missions are much improved and there is simply more to do.
The game was being compared to Crackdown a while back, due to the free roaming nature of it. i would say that its not as much of a "sandbox" as Crackdown is but on the other hand at least there is a bit of variety and you won't finish it in a day, unlike that particular title!

Im enjoying it so far, a good game, as much fun as spiderman 2. People have said it before me and i agree, if you enjoyed 2 you will enjoy it, if you didnt its hard to tell but its a fun game and does seem tougher than 2 so far.
Also, so far, its a lot less cheasy than some bits of the film *l*.
