    Hi,

With 2K to spend on a 7.1 integrated receiver / amp what would you suggest?

I am not interested in source switching or any jiggery pokery as by the time I ca afford a projector the technology will have moved on and maybe 1080p will be affordable.

My priorites are sound quality and power for home cinema listening. I will upgrade the speakers sometime later but a good match with M&K MP150 fronts and column surround rears would be ideal.

I would even consider seperate processor and amps if the budget allows.

    Thank you.

How about an Arcam AVR300 at £1300?

It is certainly a beautiful pice of kit but has it enough grunt to get the most out of the M&Ks?

A Denon A1SRA. Very nice combination with M&K's and it has more than enough grunt to run them. Can be picked up for around 1400 quid if you shop about.

I would agree with Jase the Denon certainly would have enough power to run the M&K's and at very high levels too, i know this might be a long shot but if you could get hold of an Ex Dem Yamaha Z9 or S/H maybe on Ebay for appox 2K it would be an excellent partner to the M&K's i sold mine at the Beginning of the year for £2000 and it did sound mighty fine with the 851's, i would maybe steer clear of the Pioneer AX10is as they are known to be alittle on the bright side so not too good a match for M&K speakers... :)

For £2k you could get both a Denon 3805 amp & a Sony HS50 projector. Then maybe upgrade the amp if/when you decide to go the HiDef route. Its the way I would go.

I had the Denon 3805 (in fact got one un-opened in my garage  ) running my M&K's until this week. They are a very good match for each other I thought
