A mate of mine says that he read somewhere that speedball 2 was coming to arcade.
I keep checking but am yet to see it.
Can someone confirm if this is going to be released for download and when.
    Cheers
    Gaz

In this months Retro Mag there is a section on the Bitmap Bros and it say's in there that there has just been an updated version of SB2 finished for XBLA.

I hope to god it hasnt been cocked up. :(

Dunno about arcade but a new version is coming to the PC soon.
Checked out the running demo and it looks good but, for me, doesn't have the appeal of the original.
I am playing the amiga version, on my PC at the mo and loving it. Takes me back to the days of the Amiga 1200.

There appears to have been a delay according to Eurogamer - but it's definitely coming. Eurogamer state that they had word from the Bitmap Bros that it will be delayed until October.

In this months OXM there is a two page hints and tips guide on it, so it must be coming really soon (although they had a two page hints and tips guide for Sensi the month before)

Let's hope they don't cock this up, the original game was an A500 classic, incidentally it wouldn't hurt to include conversions of xeon 2, gods and chaos engine while they're at it, instead of just speedball 2, they could call it "the bitmap pack"

w00t! Lets hope they come through this time.

I prefered the original Speedball over the sequel too. It was easier to score with the diagonal shots at goal on the first one. :smashin:

I had the Gameboy version of SB2, that was pants.

Well lets hope this version plays like the amiga version as that version had perfect the gameplay, but then i was a lot younger and had better reaction times and reflexes then. The new graphics look good but im sure ill play it with the retro look.

Well, it still plays well. Fast and furious as ever. I keep double tapping 'A' which tackles/takes the ball then throws it away.
Scored a couple based on that method though.

The demo only has the original GFX so, no idea how the enhanced version will play.

I'll give it a few more games before I commit to buying.

Been back and played a few more games, getting back into it. The CPU gets some cheap hits in (hot ball at the goalie within 30 secs of kick off), but can be out-played.

The demo is Brutal Deluxe (You) vs Violent Desire. IIRC Brutal Deluxe was best team, so if I'm struggling here with the best team, playing as a lower level team will be a nightmare!

It depends, Brutal Deluxe started out as the worst team in the Amiga version.

You had to earn cash from games and buy star players to have any chance against the better teams iirc.
