Hi there,

I'd like to upgrade my cables etc so I can get the most out of my router. I've looked into it a bit and I have to admit I'm baffled! All I want to do is to upgrade my cables so I'm using the best possible for my rouer.

My cables at the moment are bog standard. I'd like to upgrade the telephone/modem cable for sure, and I'd like to know if there are better ethernet cables available.

I cannot connect to my master socket as it's downsdtairs, but my router is only about 1.5 metres from the telephone socket.

Can anyone suggest anything to help me get the best out of my router please?

Many thanks,
Kit

You don't really need to upgrade cables, it'll make very little if any difference.

Unfortunately the best route is to connect it to the master socket and remove any wired extensions from the master socket. My speed went from 5Mbps to 11Mbps doing this. The master socket had an extension or two wired in so I pulled the front cover off and disconnected them.
