I'm looking to buy a gift for my parents 20 year wedding anniversary. Got the gift chosen and all but how the heck do I take delivery of it without them knowing? Is there any way I can send it to a special company or something then go pick it up? Are there places like that?

In some countries, Post Offices have a service called 'Poste Restante' which means they hold your mail until you come and collect it. It might be worth looking at the Royal Mail or Post Office websites. Otherwise, get a friend or relative to take delivery?

PS. Good New Year? ;)

I guess it depends what you're buying and where from, but....

Could you get it sent to a friend's or neighbour's? Or maybe to your place of work?

I know some companies will only deliver to the same address as the credit card billing address, but many will.

Friends / relatives wouldent really work too well as it'd mean expecting someone to stay home..... Which is an issue. That service you mentioned could be brilliant though! Any other ideas?
