Spec Of PC To Capture/Encode/Stream Live Video ?

Free To Air

Established Member
Hi,

Would anyone please be able to help with some advice on the PC specifications needed to be able to capture/encode/stream live video to a web page.

The capture will be from a camera either into a capture card or directly into the PC.

Once the live video is in the PC then my understanding is that it needs to be encoded into streamable format and then served to the web page.

I hope to have all of this done by a single dedicated PC and to stream the video in FLV format.

Any advice most appreciated.

I haven't any idea, but for those who do they'll probably need some idea of what sort of quality you want to stream - blu-ray quality HD is going to be far more demanding than 640x480 at webcam quality.
