Spec me a blu-ray player

Hi, I'm looking for a blu-ray player for the bedroom. (My PS3 is being used by another TV in the house).

I'd like to be able to play .mkv files from a USB hdd as well and I need one that has an optical connection on the back for my old 5.1 system.

My dad has a Sony bdp-S380 which was supposed to play .mkv files via USB hdd but it is very picky about which ones it likes and is more hassle to use than he likes, therefore I am not very interested in this particular model for me - despite the rave reviews it has.

I am looking for something ideally upto £100 is possible. If the .mkv playback requires a more expensive higher spec player, then I'll do without that and just go for one that is very good at upscaling DVDs and playing blu-rays with an optical connection.

Thanks

Buy yourself a £30 media player and a £65 bluray player, you will have much better media file compatibility.

Sony s185 or panasonic dmp bt75
Sumvision cyclone
