A few months ago I saw an advert in a magazine for some speakers which look like a photo/picture frame. Can anyone tell me what these are and if they are any good?
oohh....flat panels.....Mission used to do some, NXT i think they were called....i assume there were other makes too, but those are the only ones that spring to mind.....
Don't quote me but I'm sure Richer Sounds sold them a while back. They were made by Wharfedale, I think, and came with a sub to fill in the lower frequencies.
you also have artcoustic as well.
i remember seeing somwhere that you could now effectively trun your walls into speaker somehow?
No i have not gone crazy, well at least not full - pretty sure i read about it somewhere!
I bought some NXT flat panels from HiFiBitz about a year ago (see http://www.hifibitz.co.uk/subcategory.asp?id=30). They're OK as rear effects speakers, but you wouldn't want to use them as fronts.
Odyssey Audio has some of these types of speakers, now. I don't know how they compare to any other's in price, but it doesn't hurt to look into it and speak to Klaus. He'll ship anywhere and he's a great guy.
But it is supposed to be an attempt at humor. A little tounge in cheek, if you will.
I would hope I wouldn't be targeted or discriminated against for being an American. After all, this is an Audio/Home Theater orientated forum and my contributions are on topic.
I dont think Knightshade was discriminating against you, I think it has more to do with your hometown/city and its meaning in good old England. Basically our British (occasionally poor) sense of humour.
