Already got a Gale 10" sub. Can anyone recommend Front, centre and rear speakers to complete the set? The fronts need to be good with music as well. Budget about £450. Any recommendations appreciated.

I don't think the yamaha is considered 'bright' anymore and as such you can go with any make. I'd say that in todays market there is probably not that much difference between speakers from big makers in a certain price bracket as such cosmetics and auditons would count for a lot.

Do you want floor standers or a sat sub set or even an inbetween, bookshelf speakers.

The below is just a guide and you could probably find cheaper else where, also if you live in a city with hifi shops you may be able to find ex demo stuff for cheaper than the internet. Try the classifieds here too, one thing that people always say is to try and buy all your speakers from the same manufacturer and range if possible to 'tonaly' match your system.

bookshelf: the acustic energy are favourates

sub/sat: the kefs are considered good

floorstanders: Cheap tannoys not heard them myself but they are ment to be good for budget

Hope this can give you an idea and has helped you some.

Nice advice. My room is about 4x5m, I think bookshelf speakers. The AE ones look good.
