I am buying the Marantz 5400 and have a budget of £300 for speakers. I was thinking about the Mordaunt Short Premier Plus. Would they compliment the amp? I presume the tannoy fx5.1 would not be powerful enough?

how much are you getting the SR5400 for? I notice Peter Tyson have the specially tuned OSE fror £299 which seems far cheaper than most

The Premiere plus is a pretty sound choice and they should work fine together. If you wanted to unlock more of the stereo performance of the 5400 there is the Avant pack that WHF assembled and then kindly gave 5 stars. It consists of the 904,905,903 and 309 sub for £780. You'll get a rather "bigger" sound than the prem, although obviously it is bigger in size as well.
