Where are you intending to buy the Denon from? If you have a branch of Richer Sounds near you then you should be able to try some speakers out with the Denon at the time of purchase. A good starting point, & ridiculously cheap, is the Mission M71i at only £60. I have a pair of these on a DM30 & I'm very pleased with them, but only you can judge what sounds good.

Also bear in mind that something that sounds good in the shop may not sound so great once you get it home. RS are usually pretty good when it comes to exchanging items that don't suit.

Monitor Audio Bronze B2s work very well with the DM31 and come in at £140.

Sorry, £140 for the B2's - isn't it the B1's that come in at £140?

Have been thinking about replacing a pair of ten year old Mission 733's that I use with my DM31 - could be very tempted if the B2's are £140!

Yes, sorry meant the B1s not the B2s. Still, they are very good for a little system like the DM31.

Anyone heard the new Mission M31i speakers? I wondered if they would work well with the Denon DM31. I need a system and have decided on the Denon DM31 but am undecided about speakers - max £140
