I am looking to put together a home cinema system and have sort of decided on the Denon 1705 AVR. Price seems quite attractive and have a bias for the brand. what speakers will go well with this

...am looking for a 5.1 speaker system around £300. I plan to use this almost equally for music and movies.

I'm looking at the AVR 1905 and am thinking of the Wharfedale 9.1 HCP set-up to go with it. About £250 I believe.

You can't run 9.1 on the 1705 or 1905 only 7.1 with the option of a second set of fronts for stereo.

    Eddy Boy, 9.1 is a speaker series not a set-up :lesson: :D
    Deepams,
Evertbody will hear differently, your room will interact differently.....
Find a good retailer and demo some speakers within your budget (using your front end) narrow it down to 1 or 2 and then try them at home.
Trust yoiur own ears!!! What YOU like is good

I've partnered mine with Tannoy FX 5.1 speakers and am very pleased with the results. They're also well within your budget.
