Speakers behind a screen?

Hi guys, new to the forums but must say what a fantastic place for info and ideas, brilliant!

I`m thinking of plans for my new "cinema" set up which will have a dropdown electric screen. Question is how will the screen affect sound if the speakers are behind it? I`m building a false fireplace construction with plasma and speakers built in but if i put the screen above it will cover the speakers.
Should i replan speaker placement or will the sound be ok.

Hi, and welcome to AV forums

I am not expert when it comes to screens, but I am aware that 'perforated' screens are avaialbe, designed to allow the passage of sound through the screen.
