I have a in-ceiling surround sound system. There are a total of ten cables coming from the wall. Five of them had a pair of red and black speaker wire which I connected directly to my receiver to provide 5.1 surround sound in the living room.

My question is about the other five. These supply sound to other rooms further away. Each of these rooms also has a volume control for the speakers. They have four wires each: red, black, white, and green. Where and how am I supposed to connect these wires? Can I connect them to my receiver directly or do I have to use a speaker switch box?

Please help if you can. Apparently this must be common knowledge since I can't find any info about this on the net. :lease:
