I think I read somewhere this can cause interference, if I buy a reasonable quality speaker cable would it then be ok.
Basically I am looking to run soem speaker cable inside some tracking that has a socket cable running in it.
If this is correct any ideas what sort of cable to buy, on a budget.

    Jules,
No matter how well sheilded your electrical or speaker wire is, I woulden't run these together in a parrellel line as you are suggesting.
Depending on the quality of your cables/wires, there will no doubt be some interference whether its serious or not.
If electrical wiring must run across speaker wiring it should do so at 90 degrees. This will cause the least amount of problems.

Most of the American Hi mags like Home Theater recommend at least 16" between poer and Hifi Cables of any kind..
