I'm not sure which forum to place this thread in, but I'll put it in here for now.

I was watching T2 yesterday at -00dB on my setup, and - what I'm guessing happenned was that - the volume was so loud that the air being shifted by my front speakers was 'rattling' my DVD player, as the picture went all wierd & flickered. A problem which was solved by turning the volume on my amp down.

My DVD player is placed on top of my amp on a stand between the centre speaker and left speaker, and there's hardly any space between the two - I'd say around 15cm either side (no room to move either the DVD player or the speaker).

Basically, I can't move the amp or the DVD player or the speakers, do forum members have any idea how to alleviate this problem? I kind of enjoy listening at reference levels afterall... Would a new equipment rack to the job?

    Thanks for reading

Add some weight to the DVD player, either on top or within the case?

Isolation platform. I've got my amp on top of my sub resting on everyone's favourite of halved squash balls.

Tried it - put a VCR, Sky box and PS2 on top, didn't help :(.

Isolation platform seems like a good idea, now where did I put those squash balls...

Try swapping them over and having the amp sitting on top of the DVD player

No can do, the amps too 'deep' and the rear-feet are further back than the end of the DVD player, if that makes sense...

Dimmy, I had a similar problem with a Laserdisc player.

Some Foculpods under it with a heavy MDF plate (black lacquered with a thin copper sheet base, the crap I buy sometimes  ) solved it.

It's the only 'tweak' I can actually confirm working, though in my case the laserdisc player wasn't that near to the speakers.

My last DVD player used to skip when it was placed close to my subwoofer. I got some Vibrapods from www.hificables.co.uk and that solved the problem completely.
