    Hi all,
I am trying to figure out how to connect my banana plug terminated speaker cables to the connectors in the MarantzSR5400. Are the connectors in the receiver only meant for bare wires? How does the banana plug fit in?
    please help!!

Hi Nik :) , you need to get a safety pin or small jewellers screwdriver or something similar and prise out the little plastic caps from the centre of each screw down terminal to reveal the 4mm sockets, they are covered up as a safety measure.

    Regards, Mylo :)

    Mylo,
Do yu mean the small black circular caps in the center of the screw? I hope I don't damage the terminals!! Can those be put back again in case things don't work out? Have you done this on your system?
    thanks and cheers
    Nik

These caps are meant to be removed, they're just small plastic bungs, probably to stop the terminals getting damaged in the first place. They come out quite easily, and yes, they can be put back in afterwards if you need to.
