    Hi there,
Appologies if this is elsewhere on the forum I did a search but did not find what I was after.
I've just bought a Sony DAV- DZ260 system and would like to set it up for the optimum sound performance.
I'm decorating the room at the moment so I have the luxury of putting the speakers anywhere within reason.
What I need to know is what will be better for sound, the front and rear speakers up high or ear hieght and should I spread them out as much as possible or have them closer in to the place I will be sitting.
I've attached a drawing to show the layout of the room, I can't spread the front speakers out to far but I can do anything with the rears, I can also have them at any hieght (Right under the ceiling line would be easier.)

Any ideas or help would be greatly recieved, I'm a bit of a newbie to this!

    Regards

    Paul
