Sigh. More problems. The right speaker on my RPTV seems to have developed a random popping noise. It sounds exactly like a static discharge. Its independant of sound volume (even occurs if sound is off).

I've tried ensuring all connections are fully in etc. Any ideas what could be causing this? Is it more likely a fault with the speaker? If it is, time to test that the TV's warranty is transferrable between owners...

I`m no expert but it sounds like an amp problem in the TV, speakers usualy sound worse at volume.

Ditto on the amp. My old Sansui Amp developed this problem before I finally pensioned it off (well it was 15 years old).

    Cheers
