    Hi!

I've got a Yamaha RX-V540RDS and now I'm about to get a 6.1 speaker system.

When it comes to the surround speakers i've read that they should be placed about 1,8 meters up from the floor. The problem is that due to strange layout in my livingroom they will be placed about 2,8 meters above the floor. Is that an OK solution or will it sound like crap?

The back center speaker will be placed about 2,4 meters above the floor and about a meter behind the sofa. Do you think that will sound OK?

    Thanks in advance!

    Sounds fine to me.

I think you'll find that most people's HT stuff is a compromise between fitting what they have in the room and getting the best performance.
