Can you mount speakers on the walls? If so, I'd put the 2 front speakers on the walls either side of the TV, and the 2 back speakers on the 2 walls that the sofa backs on to.

The centre could go below or above the TV, and it doesn't really matter where you put the sub - by the side of the TV on the floor, or by the side of the sofa; either would sound alright.

I'd agree with Jez. As the placing of your sofa and TV isn't in the typical 'best location' then you need to adapt.

I have a similar sitting area but it's down the lounge end of the lounge / dining room and it has a 3 and 2 seater at right angles. I wall mount the satelites (blue elipses on attached file) and the sub is to the left of the 3 seater (and the centre is below the plasma).

My wife and i only use the 3 seater when watching films and if we have guests i'll swivel the speakers slightly to give a better 'for all' sound.

    HTH.

Mine was a JPG and the OP had attached a BMP file. Would this provoke the difference?

Correct me if I am wrong, but the obvious solution seems to be -

    - one Front on either side of the TV,
    - one rear on either side of the Sofa sectional,
    - the center in front of or below the TV,
    - the sub can be placed pretty much anywhere.

If I'm luck, there will be an attached image.
