Not sure exactly which section is best for this as it covers all areas, anyway I'm finally being allowed by the missus to seriously upgrade my solution in a box pioneer system to some decent seperates :D
My room is 12 foot by 30 but listening area 12 by 12.
This is what i am favouring at the moment, would like to know if its a good combination ,is it too much power for my room and what speakers should I go for .I want floorstanders for the fronts but as iwill be listening to sacd not sure what to go for for surrounds.

Denon 3805,dvd player help please one that eradicates layer changes.
roksan kandy III cd and amp
svs 20-39 pc-plus(was assured this was a musical sub as i have many music dvds.
Sory far all the questions but was easier than splitting it up into teh different sections.

I dont think there is any dvd player that totally eradicates all layer changes on all disks. Mine is superb with some and terrible with others. What is your budget for the speakers? What ratio music to movies?

Well the dvd i was thinking of was the denon 2900 asi thought this may partner the 3805 well? the only thing is if i went for the pioneerax5i option i could get i-link .As for the speakers i've been told not to skimp on them so around £1500 probably.I will be playing a lot of music dvds, sacd and run my roksans through it too using the preouts on the denon. Also want them to be great for movies too.

There is a new lower cost Denon DVD player just been released that has a 2MB buffer to eradicate layer change delay - sorry, cannot remember the model number, but I believe it costs £130, although you'll probably need to spend a little more if (and I've no doubt you will) want it Multiregion.

    Cheers,

    Martin.

It may well have - I am not sure, but I know I did read recently about the new "budget" machine from Denon definitely having that feature. If that has it, then there has to be a good chance that a high end machine will also have it.

Best of luck with whatever you decide to ahead with.

    Cheers,

    Martin.
